On the Pat Page Archive recordings, there are about 2 hours of Cy Endfield being interviewed; much of it is not about magic, but his career as an inventor.

I think Mr. McCabe is on the right track. It's more effective to switch the credit card while inspecting it, than "vanish" it.

Thanks for your reply, Scott. I'll echo Richard Hatch here, that there's a lot of interesting matter here. But... In your presentation it is not clear a) what is pure conjecture, b) what you think is backed by circumstantial evidence (and what that is), and c) what you feel is based on hard evidence...

Hard to know where to begin, but: You make lots of statements about the syndicate of men who you think wrote the book. Is there any hard evidence to your conclusions that Andrews was the main writer and that Oliver Limerick was the stylistic polisher? Also, any evidence that Hilliar stole the manusc...

Re: David Alexander's 'Holy Grail' Open Prediction

Interesting new effect on the Reel Magic site Tuesday Night Tricks section called What in the World. It doesn't meet all the specifications by a long shot, but it's a pretty interesting take on the Open Prediction with quite a lot of freedom. Performer puts a prediction card face down on the table. ...

I like the view that the best tricks give the spectators a great story to tell their friends: "Then we did this , and that happened!" OOTW, perhaps? What better story for a spectator to tell his friends? Yes. Or "And then he threw the deck of cards upwards, off the edge of the boat, ...

I actually agree with performer: it can be an art, but rarely is. The variety arts serve mainly to entertain, and it's only a few times in a generation when there comes along an artist with the requisite craft and vision to produce superior art.

I wonder, Mr. Keyes, if you've ever been in a relationship with a significant other for any amount of time? Because I guarantee you that whether you tell them verbally that the unfamiliar bra left under the bed is yours, or merely put it up against your chest to imply it is, you will be called a liar.
