Re: Bob Swadling Changing Card

Hmm...very interesting--I saw this as well:

http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4435

They both sound like you've got to be a bit handy in making them, but not too terrible.

I've read the reviews: anyone have any experience with the above mentioned products to recommend one over the other?

Two great close-up journals of that era that never completed their runs were Antinomy (and I second Mr. Billot's suggestion) and The Penumbra.

Thanks! His book just arrived at my house, so I'll be sure to look those up. I still think "Fickle Nickel" is still remarkablly brilliant after all these years.

I hope to see him one day at a convention. Sad that the copyists drove him out of the market.

I know that "worth" of a non-essential item is a personal (and sometimes sensitive) subject. I don't feel I'm in a position to judge anyone's feelings in this regard, and can only speak for myself. At the risk of offending, for me, it feels right that this material should be priced at a po...

A question to those who have bought these books. Have you found anything in them that you have actually used and feel it was worth your investment? Sadly, no. (I paid full price). This is not to impugn anyone who was involved in the production of the books (and may, in fact, be a reflection of my l...

I look at it similarly to Caveney's magnum opus. This represents an entire career's work of one of the best of all time, IMHO. When I was young, I used to carry around a trick in my wallet wherever I went, because I was brought up to think that a good magician should always be ready to perform at a moment's notice. However, now that I am old and cranky, the thought of that seems just a little bit weird. After all, if we fin...
