Re: Steve Baker RIP

I have not bought-in to a "celebrity death hoax" before, but with the previous reports of his poor condition, it seemed logical and now noticed online, others are debunking the hasty/false reports. Sorry for the misinformation. Still sad for his condition. Years ago he appeared on a TV sho...

When I was on my phone today, and read that teen idol, David Cassidy had died, I was with about a dozen people in the 20s' and 30's. I asked did anyone know who David Cassidy was? What "The Partridge Family" was? NO one had any idea. Fame is fleeting. At one time, Steve Baker was on nation...

Re: "Wait for your Laugh"

I saw it at Laemmle's Town theater in Encino, Calif....it hasn't gotten to TV yet. I should qualify, the home movies I noted, do show the outside theater marquees with Rose Marie billed with others, including magicians, but it doesn't show them performing or hanging out with Rose Marie.

"Wait for your Laugh"

I just saw, "Wait for your laugh", a bio/doc on Rose Marie. A fun look a her 90(!) years in show business....vaudeville, nightclubs, radio, movies, TV, and more.

Fun to see the home movies of the venues she played, sharing bills with Jose Frakson and Cardini and more.

Worth the watch.

Re: It's not magic, but AGT 2017-- Whoa!

The use of the (back) story for the contestant/performers is nothing more than standard TV production practice. The producers/directors want the public to KNOW the personalities they put on the show, maybe identify with them, so they will CARE about them and want to WATCH them to see WHAT happens to...

Gamalo, you wrote a fair perspective. How it's overhead compares to other shows, (especially since the pay is rather low for the work involved, and and Feld's strict hold on costs) I don't know. But for the Ringlings, the show was struggling to make money for some observers, groaning under it's own weight, before they sold it. In his bi...
