Debbie one of the three runners-up unfortunately.

It took a Scotsman to beat her. (No, not me or Ronnie Performer)

12 or so weeks on a prime time show - can’t be bad...

Re: Making Audience Members Uncomfortable

Has this sort of tripe ever been considered acceptable?

Right or wrongly it probably has, however there is no place for this type of behaviour at any time.

Perhaps this is the topic that should be exercising the minds of the Ennobling Magic experts.

Ever been disappointed by that soggy burger that in no way resembles the succulent beef-fest portrayed in the picture?

Then travel to Japan where you will be guaranteed to receive a meal that looks exactly like the fake version displayed in the window.

It’s amazing.

Re: Storing Magic Periodicals

All a matter of preference I suppose.

As I have (as near as dammit) a complete file of Nat Geos - I kid you not - I’d hate to think what condition they would be in now (or where they would be) if I hadn’t had them all bound.

Re: Storing Magic Periodicals

The Nat Geo is perfect bound however the bookbinder does trim them and, for me, removes all full page ads before binding.

I appreciate that for, say, Genii one would probably want to keep the ads.

Re: Storing Magic Periodicals

Bound volumes are definitely my preference. If I knew how, I would post a few pics of my professionally bound National Geographic magazines as an example. Two bound volumes each year. An expensive approach however they look great. Always meant to get around to doing the same with Genii, might look i...

Can’t we just agree that Gallaway is/was Erdnase so that Chris can go away and concentrate on something important for a change, [edited].

S W Erdnase was either:
1. E S Andrews or
2. Someone who wished to remain anonymous and was successful in doing so.

Just sayin’

This Week's Big Magic News in The UK

Debbie McGee is through to Week 6 of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and was the highest scorer in this week's show.

Other than that it has been a pretty quiet week here on the magic front.

I understand that they still have the original footage filmed at the time using 4K HD cameras.

Apparently they have spent the last few decades trying to degrade the video quality to match the poor quality of the photographs in the reprinted edition.

I certainly wasn't making light of DC's collection, Richard, merely wondering if some of the 'super-collectors' will ultimately face the same dilemma as the little guys. Possibly, possibly not. I have a number of books
- that have poorly designed or 'flimsy' slipcases
- have damaged slipcases
- that I'd like to have slipcases for

I guess I could ask a bookbinder to make me a few custom made ones however I'm guessing it would be prohibitively expensive.
